Up to 16 DVB-ASI Streams over a Single Fibre

The CL-270 is used in digital television broadcast systems for optical transport of HD content from TV studios to Cable TV head ends for distribution. ASI is a very useful protocol that is typically used for transporting encoded video in either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 formats. Usually as many as 10 or more standard definition MPEG-2 streams can be carried over one DVB ASI transport stream. ASI over fibre systems such as the CL-270 allow these ASI transport streams to be carried up to 120 km over fibre. The unit converts MPEG 2 transport streams carried via ASI to fibre -  from a copper media to a singlemode optical signal. The Optical receiver converts it back to a DVB stream. The CL-270 uses a BNC connector for the copper input and can be configured for SC, SC(APC), ST and FC optical connectors. Typical applications include DVB-ASI or SD-SDI (SMPTE 259M) running at 270 Mbps. The CL-270 also supports SMPTE 310M and ASI from 19 Mbps up to 370 Mbps. The CL-270 multiplexes the signals and transmits the signals over one fiber strand. The CL-270 has easy-to-read diagnostic LED's for continuous status system status. CL-270 support 1, 2, 4, 8,16 individual  ASI signals to fiber.
